Red Hook Initiative

Red Hook Ini­tia­tive is an orga­ni­za­tion that pro­vides pro­gram­ming and sup­port for youth and young adults in the Red Hook Com­mu­ni­ty. Their tar­get pop­u­la­tion lives in the near­by pub­lic hous­ing devel­op­ment, Red Hook Hous­es. Their pro­grams include school pro­gram­ming, employ­ment assis­tance, help with social ser­vices, and advo­ca­cy for bet­ter repair needs along with resilien­cy and emer­gency preparedness/​response. On Gov­er­nors Island, they will present their pro­gram­ming in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Red Hook Art Project.
