The Easiest Way To Get Away

Governors Island is a 172 acre island in the heart of New York Harbor. It’s only 800 yards from Lower Manhattan, and even closer to Brooklyn. It is a world unto itself, unique and full of promise.

Request for Expression of Interest: Revitalization & Adaptive Reuse of Buildings 324 & 330

The Trust for Governors Island has issued a RFEI for the revitalization of two historic buildings on the Island, the former Army YMCA (Building 324) and Fort Jay Theatre (Building 330), seeking responses that propose arts and cultural, recreational, or other public-facing uses that will bring them back into active, year-round use. Together, these buildings represent some of the Island’s most exciting adaptive reuse opportunities, offering an exceptional setting to create vibrant public offerings that serve New Yorkers and Island visitors alike.
