Climate Imaginarium
Friday-Sunday
Colonels Row - Colonels Row - Building 406A
The Climate Imaginarium is a new consortium of climate organizations debuting our center for the arts on Governors Island. The Imaginarium serves as a community center for climate and culture, with galleries and spaces for exhibitions, performances, film screenings, and events that respond to the climate crisis with visions for hope and justice.
In 2024, the Imaginarium is launching programming in four thematic areas: ⓵ a community center for climate artists and storytellers to convene and collaborate, ⓶ a production studio to incubate climate stories across a range of narrative media, ⓷ a laboratory to inform research and education for translating stories into solutions, and ⓸ a collaborative space for learning, performance, exhibition, and engagement with the public.
The Imaginarium promotes climate literacy and social connection, while presenting opportunities for climate artists to amplify their reach, visibility, and impact. They are committed to uplifting voices from all communities to reimagine regenerative futures, while exploring the synergies between science and storytelling.
