Meditations on Medication: The Pill Bottle Project

Foun­tain House Gallery artists and the greater New York City com­mu­ni­ty are invit­ed to par­tic­i­pate in Med­i­ta­tions on Med­ica­tion: The Pill Bot­tle Project, a series of site-spe­cif­ic instal­la­tions con­struct­ed entire­ly of (emp­ty) orange pre­scrip­tion bot­tles. Con­ceived of by Foun­tain House Gallery artist Alyson Vega, the project aims to gen­er­ate con­ver­sa­tion around med­ica­tion, rou­tine, recy­cling, plas­tic waste, insur­ance, acces­si­bil­i­ty, and more.

Vis­it week­ends on Gov­er­nors Island to help con­struct or find out oth­er ways to get involved! You can also drop off emp­ty pre­scrip­tion bot­tles at one of their three des­ig­nat­ed drop-off spots:
