Meditations on Medication: The Pill Bottle Project
Fountain House Gallery
Weekly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting from May 17, 2024, until Aug 11, 2024
Nolan Park - Nolan Park - Building 8B
Fountain House Gallery artists and the greater New York City community are invited to participate in Meditations on Medication: The Pill Bottle Project, a series of site-specific installations constructed entirely of (empty) orange prescription bottles. Conceived of by Fountain House Gallery artist Alyson Vega, the project aims to generate conversation around medication, routine, recycling, plastic waste, insurance, accessibility, and more.
Visit weekends on Governors Island to help construct or find out other ways to get involved! You can also drop off empty prescription bottles at one of their three designated drop-off spots:
- Fountain House Gallery, 702 9th Avenue, New York, NY 10019
- Fountain House Studio, 37 – 24 24th Street, Suite 012, Long Island City, NY 11101 (call 212−582−0340 x1930 to enter)
- Nolan Park Building 8B, Governors Island, New York, NY 10004 (Open Friday-Sunday)
In order to protect privacy, please either remove the label off bottle(s) or block out private information. Permanent markers are provided at all drop-off locations. For any questions or to chat about bulk donations, please contact Fountain House Gallery at gallery@fountainhouse.org.
Fountain House Gallery is one of the 2024 Governors Island Arts Organizations in Residence.
