May 4, 2019
10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Join us to show some love for our oasis in the harbor and celebrate the opening of the 2019 season!

Everyone is invited to take a deep breath of spring air and come DIG in the dirt with us! We’ll be working all over the park on a series of quick, high-impact volunteer projects to help our gardeners prepare the Island’s landscapes for the busy summer ahead.

Learn first-hand how Governors Island is tackling climate change through our resilient design, zero-waste goals and thriving new ecosystem – and how your participation is the key to keeping our park healthy and vibrant.

After you’ve lent a hand, enjoy the rest of the day on the Island with special perks and discounts from our food and recreation vendors! And join us for a closing party at 3pm featuring free treats, prizes, music, lawn games and more. We’ll also reveal the full impact of the day’s collective stewardship activities.

All ages are welcome! Bring your friends, family or colleagues and sign up for one of two project shifts: 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm. Sign up now!
