11:45AM UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who came out bright and early for the second annual Governors Island Egg Hunt! Due to incredibly high demand, all 50,000 eggs have been found, but we still have a day full of free spring-themed activities until 3pm. View the full schedule below.
Egg Hunt Schedule
AS OF 11:45AM, ALL EGGS HAVE BEEN FOUND.
- All Ages Egg Hunt: 10am-3pm in the South Island Park
- 5 & Under Egg Hunt: 10am-3pm in Hammock Grove
- Island-wide Scavenger Hunt: 10am-3pm, South Island Park
Event Schedule
All non-egg hunt event activities will take place in Colonels Row.
- 10AM-3PM: Meet the Bunny photo op, giveaways with Tony’s Chocolonely, crafts with Red Hook Art Project
- 10AM-1PM: Meet the Earth Matter Chickens
- 10AM & 1PM: The Little Red Hen, a puppet show by WonderSpark Puppets
- 11:30AM & 2:30PM: Bombastic Bubble show, presented by Bubbledad
Food will be available for purchase onsite from Governors Island vendors Makina Café, Little Eva’s, and Fauzia’s Heavenly Delights, alongside food trucks including NAO’s Caribbean Flavors, Yankee Doodles, Paradise Taquilla, and Deploy Coffee.
No pre-registration is required, and the event is rain or shine. Please note, we anticipate heavy visitor traffic to Governors Island during the Egg Hunt. It’s strongly recommended that you reserve ferry tickets in advance.
Getting to Governors Island
Ferries operated by the Trust for Governors Island run daily from the Battery Maritime Building, located at 10 South Street in Lower Manhattan. Click here for schedules and tickets.
NYC Ferry, the City’s public ferry service, also serves Governors Island daily year-round via the South Brooklyn Route. The Trust for Governors Island does not operate NYC Ferry. Visit their website at ferry.nyc for more information and tickets.
