Spend the summer with Children’s Museum of the Arts on Governors Island! CMA’s week-long Art Colony Summer Camps run from June through August out of its Governors Island-based studio in one of the historic homes on the island. Your child can capture the magnificence of the island with photography, explore the arts of ancient times, learn how to animate their own film, illustrate their own story, and so much more!
These technique-based classes are led by CMA’s team of Teaching Artists who design each camp’s curriculum off their own artistic practices. Campers have the unique opportunity to learn comic book design from illustrators, animation from filmmakers, screen printing from textile artists, and more. Sign up your young creator for as many weeks as you wish.
Classes are from 10 AM-4 PM, with supervised play from 9-10 AM and 4-5 PM included. There is convenient camper drop-off and pick-up from the Governors Island Ferry Building in Manhattan.
