Keep Governors Island Vibrant
Located at the center of New York Harbor, Governors Island has been transformed from an abandoned military base into an extraordinary public space for recreation, culture and relaxation. Central to the Island's transformation is the award-winning new park, which opened in 2014 and is home to more than 2,000 trees of 40 different species, tens of thousands of shrubs, wide expanses of lush lawns and native wildflowers.
Taking care of the park and the Island's green spaces is a small team of gardeners who work tirelessly to keep Governors Island vibrant year round. Help support our gardeners and the care of your favorite landscapes, from the soaring Hills to relaxing Hammock Grove, by making a donation today.
