through September 25

How have Native and African Americans been written out of American history, and what does this mean to contemporary political and social ideologies? Race and Revolution: Exploring Racial Injustices through Art is a group art show that will address this question by pairing historical documents that reveal requests the American and British armies made - with the intention to exploit - of Indigenous and African American peoples to get them to fight for their causes during the American Revolution. Through original works, artists will respond to excerpts from historic documents written by George Washington, Lord Dunmore, John Adams, and others.
