Black Lives Mat­ter. The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island and Friends of Gov­er­nors Island stand with all who con­demn sys­tem­at­ic racism, vio­lence and injus­tices against black peo­ple and com­mu­ni­ties of color. 

It is more impor­tant than ever that pub­lic spaces, includ­ing our own, do more to increase acces­si­bil­i­ty and ampli­fy the diverse voic­es of New York City. We re-com­mit our­selves to con­stant­ly exam­in­ing and strength­en­ing our con­tin­ued efforts to ensure that Gov­er­nors island is a wel­com­ing, inclu­sive and safe envi­ron­ment for all.
