Gov­er­nors Island Hon­ored with Pre­siti­gious Award for Excel­lence in Design

After much hard work from the team here on Gov­er­nors Island, we are proud to announce our selec­tion as a recepi­ent of the Award for Excel­lence in Design through the Office of May­or Bloomberg!

​“These awards are our city’s cel­e­bra­tion of the best and bright­est exam­ples of pub­lic design,” said May­or Bloomberg. ​“We are com­mit­ted to mak­ing first-rate design a pri­or­i­ty in every project in all five bor­oughs. That allows our pub­lic projects to both improve the qual­i­ty of life for New York­ers and exists as sources of pride for our city.” ‑Office of the May­or Press Release

Hun­dreds of projects were sub­mit­ted for con­sid­er­a­tion, yet Gov­er­nors Island’s inno­v­a­tive Phase One stood out as one of the top con­tenders. We are so proud of this accom­plish­ment, and look for­ward to con­tin­u­ing our work on the new park.
