Governors Island Honored with Presitigious Award for Excellence in Design

“These awards are our city’s celebration of the best and brightest examples of public design,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “We are committed to making first-rate design a priority in every project in all five boroughs. That allows our public projects to both improve the quality of life for New Yorkers and exists as sources of pride for our city.” ‑Office of the Mayor Press ReleaseHundreds of projects were submitted for consideration, yet Governors Island’s innovative Phase One stood out as one of the top contenders. We are so proud of this accomplishment, and look forward to continuing our work on the new park.
