Request for Proposals: Year-Round Arts, Educational & Cultural Tenants in Nolan Park Buildings 9 and 20

The Trust for Governors Island invites artistic, cultural, environmental and educational organizations to submit proposals for the lease and programming of space in the following historic buildings located in the Island’s multi-tenant Nolan Park campus, a hub of diverse cultural and educational programming:
20 Nolan, an historic, three-story wood-framed home that will be gut renovated by The Trust and converted into two pre-built triplex suites, including all new building systems, each approximately 2,600 gross square-feet. Each suite comes with ground-floor space for public engagement and programming and additional upstairs space for offices, conference rooms, artist studios or classrooms. Each space is expected to be move-in ready by mid-2022.
9 Nolan, the “Block House,” an approximately 8,500 square-foot historic brick building containing 13 dormitory-style living quarters across three floors, each of which can be operated independently. The Block House is available for immediate occupancy in as-is condition.
This is the first offering of these unique spaces for year-round, long-term cultural use.

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in New York City, the Trust for Governors Island will be moving the in-person information sessions and site visits associated with this RFP to digital information sessions. Webinars via Zoom will be offered at the originally scheduled times for site visits as follows:
- Thursday, March 26 at 10:00AM EST
- Thursday, April 2 at 10:00AM EST
Interested parties will receive a link to join the online sessions by RSVPing at the address below. Installing the Zoom app is not required to join the meeting.

As of now, the RFP and all associated deadlines will move forward on the established timeline. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Deadlines for questions and responses to this RFP will be extended and a third digital information session will be held.
The third digital info session will be held at 10AM on Tuesday 4/21. Participants can receive a link to join the session by RSVPing to email@example.com.
