4heads Governors Island Art Fair
New York’s largest independent exhibition is back for the 11th annual 4heads Governors Island Art Fair (GIAF)! Each year, GIAF presents the work of up to 100 artists, selected through an open call and jury process. For the 2018 art fair, 80 artists were given a full room- free of charge- to create an immersive installation or micro-exhibition, giving them more space to highlight their distinct approaches and techniques. The 80 artists were chosen by 4heads co-founders from more than 800 proposals. Those selected are both artists new to the 4heads community, as well as those that have previously shown at GIAF or another 4heads fair. The artists this year come from different places from across the U.S. including, but not limited to, Baltimore, Cincinnati, locations in California, Virginia, Maine, as well as internationally from cities like Beijing, Seoul, Warsaw, Toronto, and many more!
4heads is the New York City nonprofit organization created by artists for artists. The goals of 4heads are to foster community by offering space for artists, to provide arts-education for the underserved, and to expose hidden culture. We support a collaborative DIY spirit while catalyzing dialogue between artists and people from all walks of life.
