Exquisite Corpse Company is a performance-based integrated arts company formed in 2012 with a vision to create a supportive community for emerging artists. ECC fosters collaborative dialogue between artistic mediums and nurtures marginalized voices. ECC utilizes strategies of collective assembly inspired by the Surrealists proposition of the “exquisite corpse”.
For the past three years ECC has been an Artist in Residence on Governors Island. Through this program ECC has been able to afford over 100 artists opportunities to create and offered immersive cross-disciplinary theatrical experiences to audiences reaching over 1,000 members. This year’s exhibit will be Memory House, located in House 404A on Colonels Row. Previous work presented on the island include: Secession 2015, Corpse Revival Performance Series, UnReel short film series, The Enchanted Realm of Rene Magritte and last year’s A Ribbon About A Bomb.
