Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Arts Center

In September, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Arts Center at Governors Island will open its dedicated arts space near Soissons Landing to the public!

Artists in residence will make use of its studio spaces year-round, while visitors can access its galleries, event spaces, and café during the public access season beginning in September, 2019. The Arts Center will allow artists to engage with each other and the public through special events, exhibitions, artist talks, Open Studio Weekends, and more programs to be announced.

LMCC partnered with the Trust for Governors Island on the renovation of a historic ordnance warehouse to create this beautiful new facility, which is the first permanent arts space on the Island.
